OVER-DEVELOPMENT
Joe is running to stop the reckless overdevelopment in Clarkstown that has been facilitated by the unfortunate and ill-conceived zoning changes, which will have a negative and irreversible effect on the character and quality of life in our town. Joe has watched Clarkstown evolve throughout his life, and he understands the limitations of our infrastructure and traffic plan. “We need to protect small businesses by making shopping and visiting our New City, Congers, and Bardonia commercial areas more attractive and more accessible”. Joe doesn’t need an expensive study (paid for by your tax dollars) to tell him the obvious changes that will negatively affect his day-to-day life. “I’ve lived here, grown up here; I know every neighborhood and every street. When you tell me that you have an issue or a concern…I can picture it; I can sympathize.”
BRINGING TRANSPARENCY BACK TO CLARKSTOWN
“My motivation is preserving quality of life in Clarkstown. I’m not beholden to any special interests, least of all developers who will exploit improper zoning changes for their own profit. I won’t accept their donations, and I will put the best interests of my constituents first.”
One of the first things we need to do is get a handle on reckless over-development that stresses our traffic system, makes our roads unsafe, and overtaxes our infrastructure. Our Planning Board must have the experience and expertise to make critical decisions regarding subdivisions, building, and our environment!
TERM LIMITS
We should reinstate term limits in our town Government. Our elected officials should not be setting up taxpayer-subsidized kingdoms where they control the destiny of every aspect of living in our Town, from who gets lucrative contracts, who gets appointed to high-paying jobs, and how YOUR TAX DOLLARS are assessed and allocated!
